HOW IT ALL WORKS
THE CREATION OF YOUR MINI BUST INVOLVES A FEW STEPS WHICH ARE OUTLINED BELOW
3D SCAN
I use a 3d scanner to capture the details of you or your loved ones face and head. Hair doesn’t always scan well which is where the next step of the process comes in, but this step ensures an accurate starting point.
DIGITAL SCULPTING
The next step is to fill in any missing areas from the scan with a digital sculpt. In this step I add hair and refine details such as eyes, ears, eyebrows etc. getting the bust ready to print.
3D PRINT
Things are nearly there. Its time to 3d print your mini bust. This is normally printed in multiple parts and assembled later. This is when things become tangible and for me is a very exciting stage.
PAINT
This is where everything comes to life. The final step in the process before you get your very own mini bust. Your mini bust is hand painted and the base is felted, ready to find its way to you.
WHAT TO EXPECT WITH YOUR MINI BUST
Your mini bust will be approximately 4 inches tall. You will be able to chose from a selection of base options before we start. Once everything is confirmed and a deposit has been paid, I will organise a date with you to come and do the scan. I will keep you updated on the progress of your bust along the way and once complete I will deliver your bust in its very own, customised box.
CUSTOMISING YOUR MINI BUST
Your custom mini bust can be done in either a fully detailed, hand painted option, or a simplified, monochromatic version. The monochrome version can be either plain white or done in a bronze effect. You can choose from a few options for the base that your bust sits on. We can discuss this upon commissioning the mini bust.
Your mini bust will be delivered in a customised wooden box. You can have the standard customisation with a name, or we can discuss other customisation if you wish.
MONOCHROMATIC OR FULL COLOUR
Choose Your Mini Bust Style
You can choose between a fully detailed, hand painted bust or a monochrome version in either white or bronze effect. The monochrome is not as simple as just applying a solid colour. Care is taken to add extra shadow and highlight to really bring your bust to life even in the monochromatic format.
